XSHARES ADVISORS: A BRIEF HISTORY

XShares Advisors was launched and seeded in November 2005. One year later, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission granted XShares Advisors exemptive relief from the Investment Companies Act of 1940, thus enabling the company to issue ETFs.

Today, XShares Advisors has 24 ETFs trading on NYSE Arca. Its flagship family of funds — HealthShares™ — began trading its first five ETFs January 23, 2007. An additional nine were listed on March 12, three in April, and two over the summer of 2007.  October 1, 2007 saw the launch of its second family of funds — TDX Independence ETFs — also listed the NYSE Arca.
